Beijing, Day 2, Part 2, the Great Wall - 3/31/12

It's the Great Wall indeed.

We could take the chair lift down from the heights or the toboggan run, and went chair lift.

As we saw on the way up, tourism is rampant at the base with everyone hawking their wares, and/or playing cards.

Also at the base, unfortunately, was a Subway -argh!
With a brief stop at a silk factory, and a drive by the Olympic bird's nest along with some other Beijing sites, and dinner, we arrived back at our hotel to pack for our flight to Hong Kong tomorrow.

Beijing, Day 2, Part 1 - 3/31/12

North of Beijing, lie the Ming Tombs. Apparently this is a
huge Chinese tourist destination and we received even more stares
than usual. There was also some great signage :-)

Afterward, we had a requisite visit to a beautiful jade factory and lunch.
After lunch - the Great Wall, deserving its own separate post.
