Petrified Forest National Park, Arizona ~ February 2025

This is one of the world's largest and most colorful concentrations of petrified wood and covers over 220,000 acres. The northern part of the park extends into the Painted Desert, which you can see in some of these photos. It was designated as a national park in 1962. The fallen trees lying everywhere lived around 225 million years ago. The park is not only beautiful but is also significant in the history of our planet.
