Dodge City, Kansas ~ February 2025

The entire town is itself a historic roadside attraction and these are some of the things we found during our brief visit. The 1898 Santa Fe Depot, Dodge City Station, is now used by Amtrak.
The Boot Hill Special No. 1139 Steam Engine.

Doc Holliday.
James Arness as Marshal Matt Dillon.
La Salsa Man.
Boot Hill Monument Park is next to the Cowboy, a plaster casting of Marshal Joe Saghrue, the making of which almost killed the Marshal.
The 100th Meridian Marker.
The famous Wyatt Earp.
Our last stop as we headed out was the old Fort Dodge, built in 1865. It was abandoned in 1882 and became a soldier's home. It currently serves as a retirement and nursing facility for retired Kansas veterans.

So long, Dodge!
