Grand Island East Channel Lighthouse ~ Munising, Michigan 2020

This might be one of the most inaccessible lighthouses in Michigan and it is a beauty. Boat tours out of Munising pass by it and kayakers stop to do some exploring. These are the only ways you can see it.
The lighthouse opened in 1868 and shone for the last time in 1908. It's been restored and preserved but is under private ownership. After two earlier attempts, we finally were able to take our Pictured Rocks boat tour and got to see this historic lighthouse.
I'd like to walk around it and see more but am happy we at least had the opportunity to sail past it 😊
