If you have any interest at all in historic structures, this one will stop you in your tracks.
Built in 1889, the building has been moved twice, the first in 1973 after it had fallen into disrepair. Mr. Bill Aukerman orchestrated the move and handled the restoration. When he sold his property in 2010, the church was moved again, a little further down the road where it stands today.
We first found the church in February of 2021. The sign at that time did not match the year on the building.
On this visit the door was open so we got to step inside.
It's a pretty cool little church.
Bill Aukerman also started the Michigan Farmer's Hall of Fame (1982) which is situated on the same property.
The outhouse structure was restored but it is not functional.
The church seems to be still operating as a church. They have a youtube channel and the most recent video was uploaded on July 6, 2025.
Thanks to everyone who helped preserve this piece of history.
